Parameterizations for Global Dynamical Models in Climatology, Astrophysics and Planetology

March 16, 2025 - March 21, 2025
The workshop, partially supported by the Simons Foundation, aims to bring together researchers studying fluid mechanics problems relevant to small-scale and fast processes, which are currently parameterized in global geophysical and astrophysical models. Many challenges are common across atmospheric science, oceanography, planetology, and astrophysics. Our goal is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation by breaking down the boundaries that often separate these scientific communities.
This session is organized by:

Michael LE BARS, IRPHE UMR 7342, CNRS, Aix-Marseille University, Centrale Mediterranée
Daniel LECOANET, Department of Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics & Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics, Northwestern University
Stefan LLEWELLYN SMITH, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University California San Diego
Jérome NOIR, ETH Zürich, Dep. of Earth Sciences, Institut für Geophysik
Tiffany SHAW, Department of the Geophysical Sciences, The University of Chicago
