French pioneer in artificial intelligence, Yann Lecun, received the Turing Prize with his counterparts Yoshua Bengio and Geoffrey Hinton for their research behind deep learning.
Yann says in his book "Quand la Machine Apprend" ("When the machine learns"): "Ma vie professionnel bascule réellement en 1985 lors d'un symposium aux Houches" ("My professional life really changed in 1985 during a symposium in Les Houches").
