Les Houches School of PhysicsSince 1951

The ISTERRE laboratory of the University  Grenoble-Alpes has installed a seismometer in one of the mazots (small hut typical of the Savoyard region) of the Ecole de Physique des Houches. This equipment is part of a network of several dozen sensors measuring the seismic events of the Alpine arc resulting from the collision between the Europe – Africa tectonic plates.
